Chidinma Ekile is a household name in the Nigerian music industry, having gained fame and recognition for her soulful voice and unique sound. In 2021, the talented songstress shocked fans when she announced that she was quitting secular music to pursue a career in gospel music. But that was not the only surprise that she had in store for her fans.
In a candid video that she shared on her YouTube channel, Chidinma revealed that she was born blind. According to her, her condition was a source of great anguish for her parents, who tried and failed to restore her sight through various medical interventions. Despite the numerous medical interventions that her parents tried, it was only when they turned to God that Chidinma’s sight was restored and her mother made a deal with God without her knowledge and dedicated her to Him.
“I was born blind. Actually, I didn’t open my eyes at all and that became a challenge. My parents tried all that they could to get me to see but it all failed. Without my knowledge, my mum made a deal with God,” Chidinma Ekile confessed.
The journey to healing was not an easy one for Chidinma and her family. Growing up with a disability can be challenging, and blindness can be particularly isolating. However, Chidinma’s faith sustained her through the difficult times, and she remained steadfast in her belief that God would one day restore her sight.
The power of Chidinma’s story lies not only in the miraculous healing that she experienced but also in the message of hope that it brings to others who may be facing similar challenges. Her story is a reminder that no matter how bleak our circumstances may seem, there is always hope, and with faith and perseverance, anything is possible.
Chidinma’s decision to pursue a career in gospel music is also significant.
