Not long ago, Ugandan event promoters and organizers set standard prices for paying all artistes depending on what they agreed upon as the current worth of performers.
Brief look into prices; Bobi Wine is worth Ugx 20million, David Lutalo 6million, Eddy Kenzo 5million, Mathias Walukaga to be paid Ugx 700k, Fik Fameica 2million and Big Eye 500k. The list is continues as some performers are to be paid less than the above mentioned prices.
According to songster Cinderella Sanyu better known as Cindy, it is a sign of disrespect when promoters begin setting standard prices for artistes or performers.
Through her pages, the songster informed promoters to quit hiring an artiste if they can’t afford them because no one can be forced to step down to promoter’s standards.
“If you can’t afford an artiste, don’t hire them. You can’t force an artiste to step down to your standards,” Cindy Sanyu wrote.
