Ugandan city socialite, music promoter, and businessman Charles Olim popularly known as Sipapa has been denied bail after his third appearance in court. The 33-year-old was arrested in September and charged of stealing over USD 400,000 and other valuables from Jacob Arok’s home.
The self-styled rich man is again on trend after being remanded to Luzira Prison for another month. Sipapa and his wife known as “Shamira Rukia Nakiyembe” are the suspects accused to have been involved in stealing money and other valuables at Arok’s home.
The two first appeared before Makindye Magistrate Court earlier in September and the court decided to send the dou to Luzira prison. Sipapa and his wife are battling six charges of robbery and other offenses for which the maximum penalty is death.
Through Mr Geofrey Turyamusiima who is their lawyer, Sipapa and his wife asked the Makindye Magistrate’s Court to prevail over what they called the state’s failure to conclude its investigations into the matter.
The two are expected to appear before the Magistrate court on 12 December for another hearing.
