Ugandan renowned singer and Grammy nominee Eddy Kenzo, explained the reasons as to why he decided to remake one of the most popular songs of the late Ugandan singer and song writer known as Philly Bogole Lutaya known as Born In Africa.
While addressing the press, Eddy affirmed that he has composed many songs that have taken him places. So, the remake of Philly Bogole’s song was not aimed at promoting himself but to continue to promote a song that hasn’t been known by some people.
“The remake of Born In Africa wasn’t to promote me because I am already popular. I have the most viewed songs than those composed by Philly Bogole Lutaya. The remake of Philly’s song was purposely aimed at promoting it further especially those who have never known it,” Eddy Kenzo said.
In conclusion, Eddy Kenzo affirmed that he is obligated to promote his country by all means and the song composed by Philly is a good one. Luckily enough it was composed by a Ugandan.
“So, I remade it to push it further and on huge stages,” Eddy Kenzo affirmed.
