Ghanaian professional footballer Christian Twasam Atsu, who primarily played as a winger has been confirmed dead. Atsu could also play as an attacking midfielder and began his football career at FC Porto as well as spending a season on loan at Rio Ave.
Christian Atsu was found dead under the rubble of his home following the tragic earthquake that took place in Turkey and Syria a few days ago. His death was confirmed and made known by his agent/manager.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning,” Atsu’s manager, Nana Sechere wrote.
The Ghanaian professional footballer had not been seen since the happening of the earth quake that caused the collapse of various apartments in the city of Hatay in which he was staying in. Most of his close friends and relatives began to question his whereabout. Unfortunately, Atsu was found dead.
Atsu was playing for the Turkish club known as Hatayspor before his death. FC Porto, Rio Ave, New Castle and Chelsea, are some of the European Clubs that the deceased played for during his life-time.
