Minister Agnes Nandutu Finally Granted Bail After Several Failed Attempts

Honorable Agnes Nandutu, the Minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs, has been granted bail today after several unsuccessful attempts. The minister had been facing allegations of diverting iron sheets that were meant for the Karamoja Community Empowerment Program.

Appearing before the Anti-Corruption Court today for the final hearing, Honorable Nandutu was granted bail on an immediate cash deposit of Ugx 10 million. Additionally, three of her associates were ordered to pay Ugx 50 million later on.

The allegations of corruption against Honorable Nandutu had caused a great deal of concern amongst the public, particularly those in the Karamoja community who were meant to benefit from the empowerment program. It is hoped that the granting of bail will provide some relief to those affected by the alleged corruption.

As the Minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs, Honorable Nandutu holds a position of great responsibility and trust.
