Pope Benedict XVI Announced Dead; He Dies At 95

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has been announced dead by the Vatican City State. Pope Benedict XVI was the former head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 19 April 2005 until his resignation on 28 February 2013.

Pope Benedict’s election occurred in the 2005 papal conclave that followed the death of Pope John Paul II. Benedict was originally a liberal theologia who adopted conservative views after 1968.

During his papacy, Benedict XVI advocated a return to fundamental Christian values to counter the increased secularization of many Western countries.   

Not long ago, Pope Francis affirmed Benedict XVI being critically ill and asked the pilgrims at the Vatican City State to pray for him and asked people to pray a special prayer for the Pope.

Pope Benedict XVI was born on 16th April, 1927 in Marktl, Germany. So, he has left the world at the age of 95. The deceased became the first leader of the Catholic Church to stand down in 600 years in 2013 citing advanced age.
