French professional footballer Karim Mostafa Benzema who plays as a forward for Spanish La Liga Football Club Real Madrid announced his retirement from international football few days after the conclusion of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The French and Real Madrid forward made the announcement while celebrating his 35th birthday after 16 yeas of making his debut for France.
A creative and prolific forward, Benzema failed to represent his country after sustaining an injury during his time at his football club. However, he could receive a gold medal at the competitions if the French men had won the World Cup because he was included in the French Squad though he had an injury.
Karim Mostafa Benzema leaves the French National team with a stunning career having played 97 matches, scored 37 goals and 20 assists. The forward also won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France.
